Waitrose Planning Application submitted in Banbury

7 May 2015

Following a public consultation in April, a planning application has been submitted for a 42,000 sq ft Waitrose foodstore in Banbury.

The multi-million pound proposal will see an area of surplus land at the Mondelēz International (formerly Kraft) factory site on Southam Road developed creating 200 new jobs.

Once planning consent is received, the intention is to start work on site in late 2015/early 2016 and complete the project ready for Waitrose to open in early 2017.

The store has been designed to complement the high standards of Waitrose through the use of materials and design that give a high quality aesthetic to the building. The scheme has received overwhelming public support with 86% of respondents to the public consultation in support of the scheme. A committee date is expected in August 2015.

Further retail opportunities are available on the remainder of the site, for further information please contact Tim Webster at timwebster@dbsymmetry.com (08702 880607)
