We started 2018 with the appointment of Matt Claxton as planning consultant to the company’s growing team.
Matt, a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, joins the Manchester office from GVA where he was an associate for over two years. Prior to GVA, Matt worked for Indigo Planning and then Knight Frank. Over the last 12 years, he has advised on a range of complex projects for clients including the Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund, Commercial Development Projects, St Modwen and Seddon Construction.
Matt will work with planning director Jonathan Dawes, who is based in our Northampton office. His remit will be to provide strategic advice on a range of planning issues, relating to submissions, negotiations and appeals for sites across the north of the UK.
This news follows hot on the heels from the appointment of Paul Chatterjee as our new development director last month.
Speaking about the new appointment, Andrew Dickman, commented: “The volume and the complexity of the sites we are involved in has meant we had an urgent need for an in-house planning consultant. Matt’s experience in working with planning authorities, developers and key stakeholders on sites across the UK lends itself extremely well to our business.
Matt continued: “db symmetry is now seen as one of the UK’s heavyweights in the logistics sector. The directors’ appetite to acquire and develop out sites across the country really appealed to me and I look forward to working with Andrew, Jonathan and the team to bring sites forward through the planning process in the most efficient way.”
