Following agreeing a pre-let to Prodrive Motorsport in July 2014, db symmetry have now completed construction of their new 111,550 sq ft headquarters warehouse facility at Central M40 Banbury. The new facility fronts the M40 motorway providing an exceptional and ongoing reinforcement of their brand identity which was a key consideration in choosing the site.
The building will be home to both its motorsport business, which runs the Aston Martin Racing team as well as the MINI and Volkswagen Golf in rallying, and its advanced technology division, which works with businesses in the automotive, aerospace defense and marine sectors.
David Richards, Prodrive chairman, said: “This is the beginning of a new era for the company. For the first time all our motorsport, advanced technology and manufacturing operations will be under one roof in a modern purpose-built facility.
“This will enable us to operate far more efficiently and to increase the collaboration and technology transfer between our businesses.”
Central M40 Banbury is being developed by db symmetry and British Airways Pension Fund. In addition to the Prodrive building, construction is underway for a new speculative 235,000 sq ft high quality warehouse due for completion early summer 2015 with further design and build warehouse accommodation available from 30,000 sq ft – 700,000 sq ft.
